YC Nepal had organized one day residential Youth Concerns Workshop at Lumle
Agriculture Centre (LAC) in Lumle Village Development Committee (VDC), Kaski on
October 13 and 14, 2006. Lumle is a beautiful village of Nepal located at 25 Km
North-West of Pokhara Valley. YC Nepal has been organizing numerous programs on
youth -- Yuva Chautari, Youth Seminar, College Campaign Series,
Life Skills Camp, Skill Development Program, and Street Drama
on various youth issues - since its establishment. The aim of this workshop was
to explore our expertise beyond the urban youth and to facilitate harmonic
interaction between urban and rural youths.
There have been
10 participants from 6 local youth organization of the Lumle VDC and 25
participants from the youth organizations of Pokhara Valley including YC Nepal.
There has been a managing team to smoothly perform the program consisting 10
members of the YC Nepal and other experts. The program consisted of three each
of two hours. The experienced and well trained members of YC Nepal delivered
lectures and concepts noted on various issues directly related to youths.

Adhikakari (President of YC, Nepal) introduced about program and our
organization. He emphasized that YC, Nepal is working towards informing and
strengthens the youths towards positive social change in Nepal. Our facilitator
team has been performed as much as their capable for running smoothly the
program. There were about 10 members were responsible and assigned to a certain
tasks liked:
Facilitating
Time keeping
Note taking
Presenting
Managing
stationeries and other accessories
Refreshment and
fooding
Special guest and
expertise of the Workshop were Mr. Prakash Bhattarai (President of Youth Action
Nepal) and Mr. Tom Canning (International Volunteer of Youth Action Nepal).
The main Objectives of the
Workshop are as follows:
To make
harmonic relationship between youth working at urban and rural sectors.
To explore
problems of youth and try to find out possible solutions.
To aware youth
about issues - International Labor Migration, Human Rights and Current
Political Scenario, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Youth
Activism.
